Privacy

What job-watch stores, why, and what leaves the service. Short, because the answer is short.

What we store

• Your email address — it identifies the account and is where results are sent.
• A password hash, if you set a password. Hashed with argon2; the password itself is never stored and cannot be recovered from the hash.
• A Google account identifier, if you sign in with Google. We ask Google only for your email address and whether it is verified.
• Your searches — the fields you enter, and which postings have been scored and emailed to you.
• Sessions — an opaque token in a cookie. Only its hash is stored, so a database leak cannot be replayed as a login.

What we don’t

No analytics, no advertising or tracking cookies, no third-party scripts on any page. The only cookie is the session cookie, and a short-lived one during a Google sign-in. We do not sell or share your data.

What leaves the service

• Job sources receive your search terms — never your email or identity.
• Anthropic receives the text of job postings and your search criteria when a result is read closely, to produce that explanation.
• Voyage AI receives job-posting text to build the vectors used for retrieval.
• Brevo receives your email address in order to deliver mail to it.

Deleting things

Deleting a search removes its runs and results immediately. Deleting your account removes everything attached to it — searches, results, sessions and the record of what you have been emailed about. Job postings themselves are shared across all users and are not personal data, so they remain.
